Cutting Down on Credit Card Debt

If you are suffering from having high credit card debt, you need to find a solid, common-sense solution to getting that debt under control and eventually eliminating it.

High interest credit card balances are hard to eliminate. The best way to do it (if you can afford it), is to stop using them and gradually pay them off — month after month. It is a slow process, but it will work if you can stay at it. Getting the credit card company to reduce the interest rate on the outstanding balance will really help. Oftentimes, a phone call to the credit card issuer can result in a lower rate, so be sure to try it. Getting rid of credit card debt will make your entire financial picture better.

If you’re in this situation, good luck and keep at it.
